Weeping Willow

Glass ‘painting’ of a willow tree.

This is what I call a glass painting. The image is created on a 12″ clear glass disc that acts as my ‘canvas’. I’ve used glass powder to create each band of color, as well as some glass powder mixed with clove oil so it can be used as paint. The powder was sprinkled on, arranged with a dry paint brush and then fired in between each application of a specific color so they did not blend. This piece was fired approx. 12 times as it had to be fired in between applications of each color.

Comes with the black metal stand as shown. This is a one of a kind, original glass painting.

Willows speak to me with their haunting beauty, their early spring buds and their use in herbal healing. Truly a special tree worthy of honoring in our art.
